We believe that people do not readily grow in Christ on their own.
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Eccl 4
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. Heb 3:13
Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Heb 10:24-25
We believe that God is fully committed to transforming his children into the likeness of Christ. He wants us to grow.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Cor 3:17-18.
…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it onto completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Phil 1:9
We believe that as he does this, he impacts a watching world…drawing others to himself.
1 Thess 1…and so you became a model to all the believers…The Lord’s message rang out from you…your faith in God has become known everywhere….
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. 2 Cor 2:14
We believe that he doesn’t just leave us to grow, but that he is minutely, intentionally and wonderfully involved in every part of this process - wanting his children to be helped to grow – to be resourced and encouraged and challenged….
Phil 2:13 For it is God who moves in you to work and live according to his good purpose.
So, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
1 Cor 3:7
We believe that the potential of prayerful, intentional, skilful listening and conversation is huge – and can be an incredible tool for catalysing and facilitating life-change -
helping people to really learn, really grow and really live.
He who answers before listening— that is his folly and his shame. Prov 18:13
Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise. Provs 19:20
Stop listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge. Provs 19:27
The purposes of a human heart are deep waters, but those who have insight draw them out. Prov 20:5
He who has ears to hear, let him listen…Jesus, many times
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 2 Tim 2:14
We believe that life to the full (John 10:10) is life that is based in real, and growing, relationship with the Living God through Jesus Christ. It is to love Him with our all, and to love others. It is radical obedience to his word.
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. John 17:3
We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.1 John 2:3
The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. 1 John 2:4-6
This is love for God: to obey his commands. 1 John 5:3
We believe these things to our core!
They excite us – they ARE what life is about.

It's a great question.
We reckon that the best people to ask are those whom Rectrix
seeks to help.
